Art Submission

In order for Bel Inc. to reproduce your artwork we require a color target. The color target is used to match the reproduction we are creating for you. It can be an original painting, drawing, transparency, 35mm slide, output from a computer file, decal, a fired piece, PMS specs, etc. It must be color correct of your expectant end result.

Note: Throughout the ceramic industry, decals are printed using pigment composed of minerals which minimize the color spectrum that can be achieved. Although boost colors are used in some instances to achieve extremely bright colors, the color palette available may not offer an exact match. That is why we require proofs on all our printing jobs, to make color adjustments before going into final production.

Original Art - Paintings, drawings, collages, etc., should be insured and packaged properly. We suggest that you supply a color correct transparency if you are not comfortable sending originals or if the art is deemed extremely valuable.

File Requirements; Color Separation at Bel Inc. is done in a MacIntosh based environment. We are able to work with PC based files as long as they are saved in a MacIntosh compatible format (ie, Corel Draw files saved as Adobe Illustrator).

The following is a list of guidelines for you to follow when submitting your computer generated files:

Specific Requirements: 4cp and continuous tone images must have a resolution of 300 at actual size.

Be sure to include all images that created the final file especially if the final was created in QuarkXPress.

All fonts (printer and screen) must be included with your file or all text should be converted to paths or curves.

Software Applications: Files saved in any of the following applications are acceptable: (remember they must be in Mac compatible format)

• Corel Draw version 8.0
• Photoshop versions 3.05, 4.0 and 5.5
• Freehand versions 5.5, 7.0 and 9.0
• Illustrator versions 6.0.2, 7.0 and 8.0
• Painter version 4.03
• PlateScribe version 2.6a
• Quark Xpress versions 3.32 and 4.04
